Based on income and number of people living in the home, eligible participants can save 60 or 95% off of eligible upgrades, for up to $5,500 in savings!
To qualify for these insulation rebates, it is essential to hire a member of the Home Performance Contractor Network. This ensures that the installation meets the required standards and allows you to take advantage of specific rebate programs.

Here are some of the eligible retrofits:
- Insulation Upgrades: Improve your home’s insulation to reduce heat loss and energy consumption
- Window and Door Replacements: Upgrade to ENERGY STAR certified models to enhance energy efficiency.
- Other Energy-Saving Improvements: Explore additional retrofits that can make your home more energy-efficient.
Insulation Upgrades
Insulation upgrades are a crucial aspect of improving a home’s energy efficiency. The Canada Greener Homes Grant provides grants for homeowners to increase their home insulation (including attic insulation) which can help reduce heat loss and energy consumption. Eligible insulation upgrades include:
- Attic Insulation: Up to $5,000
- Exterior Wall Insulation: Up to $5,000
- Exposed Floor Insulation: Up to $5,000
- Basement Insulation: Up to $5,000
- Crawl Space Insulation: Up to $5,000
The grant amount is based on the R-value of the new insulation added, with higher R-values indicating better insulation. By upgrading your insulation to meet the recommended R-values for your region, you can significantly improve your home’s energy efficiency and comfort.
Window and Door Replacements
Window and door replacements are another eligible retrofit under the Canada Greener Homes Grant. Homeowners can receive grants for replacing their windows and doors with ENERGY STAR certified models, which can help reduce heat loss and energy consumption. The grant amount varies depending on the type and number of windows and doors replaced. Energy Efficiency Incentives
In addition to the Canada Greener Homes Grant, homeowners in British Columbia can also take advantage of energy efficiency incentives offered by BC Hydro and other utilities. Homeowners can also participate in the Home Energy Improvement Bonus, which offers rebates of up to $2,000 for completing three or more rebate-eligible upgrades on their home. To be eligible, homeowners must have an EnerGuide home evaluation conducted by a registered energy advisor before renovations begin.
